Monoxide is a 50 year old MC/producer from Detroit, Michigan who started out as 1/3 of House of Krazees along with The ROC and Jamie Madrox. The latter of whom would join Hektic to sign to Psychopathic Records in late 1997 as Twiztid, becoming the biggest act to come out of the label running down the streets under the Insane Clown Posse wing alongside Ouija Macc a little later, 2 decades later. & PSY cut ties. Mono was actually the first of the dementia twins to go solo together Chain smoker turns 20 this fall. So with that in mind, as well as 10 years since Majik Ninja Entertainment was founded and how much Monoxide has gotten better lyrically over time, it only makes sense to give Leap Day a second try produced by MIKE SUMMERS aka Seven.
After the intro, “FAFO (Fuck Around Find Out)” is an eerie album-opener that builds on that whole mentality, while “Blown Away” works in pianos as well as kicks and snares, warning that you don't want to. this smoke. “I See Everybody Dead” goes into his bad bag reminding that no one listened to him about his problems and after the “You Said It” skit, “Smoke Train” featuring Blaze Ya Dead Homie and Alla Xul's Joe Black Elu joins the trio for a fantastic weed smoking ballad.
Twiztid's “Not Normal” finds Jamie and Mono over vibraphone and hi-hat feeling the abnormalities in their chests, but after “Is That You?” The sketch, “Anxiety” featuring Boondox & James Garcia or the artist formerly known as Young Wicked is this badass trap metal track that's sure to rock the pots. “Bad Medicine” gives off an ominous trap vibe that encourages you to light up a doobie and enjoy the ride because life's too short, but then Twiztid's rap rock “BMA (Baddest Motherfucker Alive)” featuring G-Mo Skee state that it is just that. .
The House of Krazees reunite for the penultimate track 'Night They All Died' which is actually one of my favorite songs they've done together in recent memory, reminding us that the horror trio is still here over 3 decades later & The ” Turn the Lights Off” he concludes The Chainsmoker II fusing rock with trap talking about excessive wandering.
Jamie was my favorite Twiztid until Monoxide started picking up his pen in the late 2000's and considering the amount of insane lyrics he's been churning out over time, I've gotten into The Chainsmoker II thinking it would be better than the album released on Psychopathic nearly 20 years ago and that's exactly what we got. 7's production is tighter than the original Chain smokeryou can hear Hektic's lyrical progression & the features from the MNE roster all maintain their level.
