The hit Netflix series Black Mirror is known for its short breaks between seasons, and with season six almost a year away, Netflix has just announced that the popular sci-fi series will be returning for a seventh installment… next year.
On Thursday (March 14), Netflix released a teaser trailer announcing it Black Mirror would return in 2025 with six new episodes. And while no details have been given about what to expect, Netflix has confirmed that one of the episodes will be a follow-up to one of Season 6's standout episodes, “USS Callister.”
The news should be welcomed by fans of the series who were happy to see the show back on track in Season 6 after a very lackluster fifth season in 2019, which many felt was easily the franchise's worst season. Now that the series has regained some popularity and respectability with its return in 2023, Netflix is trying to capitalize and give fans a few more stories that have occasionally given us a taste of what to expect in our own actual reality.
No release date has been set, but don't be surprised if its 7th season Black Mirror returns sometime next summer.
