Before the release of Brilliant Future Later this week, Big Thief’s Adrianne Lenker returns with another new song, “Free Treasure.”
The latest single from Brilliant Future (out March 22), “Free Treasure” places Lenker's trademark poeticism in a sparse arrangement. Soft acoustics accompany the progression as Lenker harmonizes with Mat Davidson, his vocals coming together to create a rich, warm sound, delivering the chorus “Understanding, patience and pleasure / Time and attention, love without measure.” He stream the song below.
“Free Treasure” follows the previous one Brilliant Future singles “Ruined”, “Sadness As a Gift” and “Fool”. The new album is Lenker's sixth solo release and features production by frequent collaborator Philip Weinrobe. Pre-orders are ongoing.

Last week, Lenker shared I won't let go of your handa six-song EP released through Bandcamp that raises funds for the Relief Fund for Palestinian Children. In a statement on Instagram, Lenker wrote: “I cannot express how sad and angry I am about this continued violence towards Palestinians. The killing must stop. The need for a ceasefire is more than urgent. Permanent ceasefire now!”
