After Future and Metro Boomin released the first of their two collaborative albums, WE DON'T TRUST YOU, social media lit up on Friday (March 22), thanks to an explosive verse fired by an elusive Kendrick Lamar. On the song “Like That,” Lamar drops several volleys, hinting at Drake and J. Cole.
“Yeah, get up with me, sliding nightingale/ 'First Person Shooter,' I hope they came with three switches,” an aggressive Lamar spews on the guest verse. “First Person Shooter” was the joint song Drake and Cole released last year and the latter boasted: “Love when they argumentin the hardest MC/ Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/The big three of us as if we started a league.”
Lamar's vitriol didn't stop there, as he continued to throw more shots at the “Big As the What” duo. “You think I won't leave the location? I still have PTSD/ Motherf–k the Big 3, n—a, I’m just big,” he growled. Lamar then addressed Drake directly, saying, “Before all your dogs get buried, that's a K with all those nines, he'll see Pet Sematary.” For context, Drake's last album was in 2023 For all dogs.
Drake and J. Cole are on the road together for their It's All a Blur — Big As The What tour, whose title was taken from the Hot 100-topping “First Person Shooter.” Additionally, the two rappers reconnected following the success of said track on Drake's Scary Hours Version of For all dogs for “Evil Ways”.
