Queer Jams of the Week: New music from Remi Wolf, Adrianne Lenker, Fletcher and more

Spring has officially sprung, which means it's time to refresh your warm weather playlists with some new tunes from your favorite queer artists! Billboard Pride is proud to present the latest edition of Queer Jams of the Week, our collection of some of the best new music releases from LGBTQ artists.

From Remi Wolf's groovy new single to Adrianne Lenker's stunning new album, check out some of our favorite releases from this week below:

Remy Wolff, “Cinderella”

Everyone needs a good fairy godmother in their life — so Remy Wolff decided to be one. Featuring “Cinderella,” the first single from the star's upcoming album Big Ideas, Wolf breaks down all of her different moods into colorful subcategories, chronicling the roller coaster of emotions she's constantly on. As you listen, the 70s-inspired groove will slowly rise, giving you plenty of room to dance away even your biggest worries. And that's pretty much the point, as Wolf sings on this delirious fun song. “Baby, won't you dry your eyes?/ Don't worry 'cause you're doing it right.”

Adrian Lenker, Bright future

In a music landscape where overproduction can seem like the new norm, Big Thief star Adrianne Lenker offers something of the opposite. On Bright future, Singer-songwriter Lenker's latest solo project gives fans a direct line into the creative process — every song on the new track was recorded directly to tape, live in the studio. Typically armed with her voice (as well as the vocals of a few collaborators) and delicate guitars, Lenker proves that her less-is-more thesis is worth a listen, especially when paired with her amazing songwriting skills. Bright future makes a big promise with its title; Luckily for us, Lenker delivers in spades.

Fletcher, Looking for the antidote

Fletcher is ready to sing about something else. After a career of songs about love and heartbreak, Fletcher's latest LP Looking for the antidote sees the singer-songwriter looking inward, asking herself questions about identity (“Ego Talking”), self-destructive mindsets (“Attached to You”) and yes, occasionally, romance (“ Crush”). With her lyrical skills developed to a new level, Fletcher proves herself everywhere Antidote that she is ready for the next challenge that life throws at her, whatever that may be.

Girl in red feat. Sabrina Carpenter, “Do You Need Me Now?”

What happens when you take two headliners from Taylor Swift's Eras tour and put them together in one song? Sounds like you have a pop bang. The Girl in Red teams up with Sabrina Carpenter on the chart-topping 'You Need Me Now?', a catchy pop-rock single that sees the pair of pop singers go for their respective exes' jugulars. With booming guitars and frantic drums, the duo let their former flames know that talk is cheap and their time is officially up. So, to answer the title question — yes, we definitely need more Girl in Red and Sabrina Carpenter right now.

Gossip, Real power

Nearly 12 years after the release of their last album, groundbreaking indie rock band Gossip are back and ready for more. Real power sees the trio take on a wide range of sound, be it disco-pop (“Give It Up For Love”), funk (“Don't Be Afraid”) or sheer rock (“Real Power”). But even with a variety of sonic textures, the group remains committed to what makes them Gossip – high aesthetics and strong lyrics meant to challenge what you accept as 'normal'.

King Isis, Shed

After giving fans a plethora of pop songs on their EP Libra, King Isis would like to dive into something a little darker. Throughout Shedthat's exactly what the up-and-coming artist does, showcasing the grungy punk aesthetic but maintaining the artistry that fans have come to love, crafting a brief, tour-influenced take on the more unsettling side of their music output.
