It has been five years since Nipsey Hussle was tragically murdered in his hometown of South Central Los Angeles on May 31, 2019.
Lauren London paid tribute to the late, great rapper in a heartfelt social media post on the fifth anniversary of his death, which symbolically fell on Easter Sunday (March 31).
“If you know me you know March is always hard for me, 31 days of holding my breath,” she wrote alongside a photo of Nip rocking a white Puma tracksuit. “This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024 Interest…. considering your name #GodWillRise Energy never dies…. I love you. Eternal.”

London and Nipsey Hussle were in a relationship from around 2013 until his last breath in March 2019. They have one child, a son named Kross, who was born in August 2016.
Hussle was tragically murdered outside his Crenshaw Marathon Clothing store in March 2019. His killer, Eric R. Holder Jr., was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in February 2023.
Since his death, Nipsey Hussle has been honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is being commemorated in an upcoming Hulu documentary series.
Hussle's latest album, Victory Round it arrived in February 2018 and is now double platinum. The acclaimed debut reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for Best Rap album at the 2019 Grammy Awards, but lost to Cardi B's Breach of privacy.
