Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley have split after five years of marriage.
On Wednesday, the hip-hop star, 30, and the influencer, also 30, announced that they had decided to “part ways” five years after tying the knot in March 2019.
The former couple announced the news in a joint statement, which was shared on their Instagram Stories.
“After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways,” the statement read. “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together.”
Chance, real name Chancelor Bennett, and Kirsten – who share daughters Kensli, seven, and Marli, four – added that they will focus on co-parenting.
“God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together,” they continued in the statement. “We kindly ask for privacy and respect as we navigate this transition. Thank you.”
The announcement comes almost a year after the former couple were rumoured to be experiencing problems in their marriage when a video of the No Brainer rapper dancing with another woman went viral on social media.
Chance and Kirsten knew each other as children and reconnected in 2012 at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas. They began dating soon after and got engaged in 2018.
