With eight nods, Luke Combs is the artist with the most nominations at the 59th annual Academy of Country Music Awards. The unveiling of this year's nominations revealed the musician is up for Song of the Year – presented to songwriters, publishers and artists – for “Fast Car”, which also earns Tracy Chapman her first ACM Awards nomination.
Trailing Combs with six nominations each are Megan Moroney and Morgan Wallen. Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton and Lainey Wilson each won five awards, including Entertainer of the Year, while Jordan Davis and first-time nominee Jelly Roll won four. Other nods in the artist, album and individual song categories include Kelsea Ballerini, Zach Bryan, Ernest, Kacey Musgraves and Old Dominion.
The 2024 ACM Awards also marks the return of the New Duo or Group of the Year award — with nods to Neon Union, Restless Road and Tigirlily Gold — for the first time since 2018.
“The 59th ACM Awards bring changes to the award categories that will allow more artists, groups and duos the opportunity to qualify and be recognized with an ACM Award, which will benefit emerging artists and help highlight the future of kind of. Daniel Miller, chairman of the ACM's awards, voting and membership committee, shared in a statement late last year.
The Academy of Country Music Awards will return to the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas on Thursday, May 16, 2024. The show airs live on Prime Video.
