In an interview with ScreenRantHarington said the project is “off the table,” at least for now. Explaining that he did not want to comment on the status of the show while it was still in development, the actor said that they had not been able to “find the right story to tell.”

He continued: “It's currently out of the question because we couldn't find the right story to tell that excited us enough. So, we decided to put the tools aside for the moment. There may come a time in the future when we return to it, but not at the moment. “It’s firmly on the shelf.”
And while it's worth noting that Harington has previously spoken about the toll Jon Snow took on his mental health, it appears that didn't factor into the decision.
