Sabrina Carpenter“give af—s are on vacation,” as she proclaims on her new single “Espresso,” and the pop superstar unveiled a summery music video on Friday (April 12) to capture that carefree feeling.
In the clip, the 24-year-old singer is seen enjoying a day at the beach and on a boat, rocking a range of pin-up style swimwear and beachwear. “The song is about seeing femininity as your superpower and embracing the confidence of being that b—-,” Carpenter said Fashion. “From the day I heard the song, I saw a beach vibe — and more specifically that kind of old school vibe [and] modern environment. [I wanted to capture] the playful mood I like to use in all my videos. I just wanted a pool car, to be honest.”
“Espresso” comes just before the singer takes the stage at the Coachella Music and Arts festival this weekend. The Girl meets people The alum is one of several artists set to perform on both weekends of this year's festival, which will include Lana Del Rey, Doja Cat and Tyler, the Creator, as well as a reunion concert from No Doubt. Also on the line-up are Peso Pluma, Lil Uzi Vert, J Balvin, Blur, Ice Spice and more, with shows starting on Friday (April 12).
Carpenter last released music in November 2023, releasing a six-track country EP titled Fruitcake. Before that came the deluxe edition of the 2022 album Email I can't sendwhich recently led the singer to her first top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Feather” peaking at No. 26 last month.
