Warner Chappell Music has entered into an agreement to manage Electronic Arts' music library. One of the largest gaming companies in the world, Electronic Arts is home to titles such as The Sims, Medal of Honor, Madden NFL, Apex Legends and more.
Executive and President of EA Worldwide Music, Steve Schnoor says of the deal: “Warner Chappell Music is more than just a music publishing giant. is a group of visionary global professionals who understand that video games will play a vital role in the future of music itself. Because Carianne and Guy believed in EA Music from the start, the management of our music catalog is now in the best possible hands, and we look forward to the opportunities this partnership will create for our game soundtracks and beyond.”
“Stephanos [Schnur] and we've known each other for over twenty years and collaborated on countless amazing projects,” adds WCM's Co-President and COO, Carianne Marshall. “He and his team are best in class and it's great to be working together once again to manage their catalog and create even more opportunities for their songs.”
WCM Executive Vice President of Global Sync and Original Media Music, Rich Robinson, adds: “Video games have long been at the center of pop culture, with many so cinematic that they lead ideas to the big screen. Music has always been fundamental to EA's storytelling, and this partnership opens the door for us to enhance the incredible scores they already have as well as connect them with our own talented storytellers – our songwriters – to shape future narratives.” .
News of the EA deal comes on the heels of a string of recent signings for Warner Chappell, including a deal with Dua Lipa and her label Radical22, Teddy Swims and Maeta.
