Mötley Crüe has unveiled new single “Dogs of War” along with a visually stunning music video. The song marks the legendary rock band's first new music in five years and the first song with new guitarist John 5.
“Dogs of War” features John 5 prominently as it contains some heavy riffs and a tantalizing guitar solo. Lyrically, the song is defiant, with lines like, “Don't let the dogs of war/ Come knocking at your door/ As we crawl across the ground/ They'll make your skin crawl/ They'll make the stars fall/ Do they matter after all?”

“It's always great to be back in the studio with the guys in the band,” said bassist Nikki Sixx. “We know you're going to like this one.”
The action-packed music video, conceived by director Nick DenBoer along with input from the band, features the members of Mötley Crüe as computer-generated characters, with nods to their past debauchery throughout the clip. Among the most shocking moments is John 5's detached upper body flying out of a dumpster while smashing his guitar.
“Dogs of War” was produced by Bob Rock, who helmed Mötley Crüe's classic 1989 album. Dr. feel good.
“Working with the band on the new song was the easiest session I've ever had with them,” Rock said. “The Crüe is the best there has ever been! And they have a lot of new things in store.”
So far, no album or additional release has been announced, but as Rock said, more music is on the way. The single's release follows the recent news that Mötley Crüe has signed a record deal with Big Machine.
Meanwhile, fans can catch Mötley Crüe at several festivals and one-off shows this year, including Welcome to Rockville, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock. Tickets for their next concerts are available here.
