After its viral success Cash Cobain and Bay Swag's “Fisherrr,” the duo turn up the heat with a music video for their remix featuring Ice Spice on Friday (April 26).
Set in and around a Chinese restaurant in the Bronx (where both Spice and Cobain are from), the video follows the trio as they place their orders and set up their situation before appearing outside the Nereid Avenue MTA station in the Bronx . Throughout the new video, clips shot on a vintage camcorder show behind-the-scenes moments of Cobain, Swag and Spice greeting fans and even engaging in an impromptu “Remsky” dance circle.
During his interview as Advertising signR&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month for April, Cobain had teased a potential collaboration for the remix of “Fisherrr,” and during our interview he hinted at a possible connection with Ice Spice for the remix. Ahead of the video's release Friday, Cobain spoke out Advertising sign exclusively for the shooting of the project with Spice and Swag.
“It was amazing. We wanted to create a real, authentic New York vibe—we got the Chinese restaurant because it's a staple in the hood,” he says. “I just wanted it to be a Cash Cobain, Slizzy vibe, you know? Ice Spice was cool to work with , she's a really sweet girl. This whole thing is amazing, I really feel like it's my time to take this sh*t on.”
Fans got an early look at the new video when bystanders posted photos of Spice and Cobain on set, with a few clips showing the two in mid-take. “The Queen and King of New York,” one fan wrote X.
