Olivia Rodrigo has been forced to postpone her two shows in Manchester due to the ongoing chaos at the Co-op Live arena.
The opening of Co-op Live, the U.K.’s largest indoor arena, was postponed for a third time on Wednesday night due to a technical fault during the soundcheck for a concert by rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
As a result, Olivia’s gigs on Friday and Saturday have been postponed.
Reacting to the news, the Good 4 U hitmaker wrote on her Instagram Stories, “Hello! I’ve been having such a great time in Europe so far and I’m soooo disappointed that we’re unable to perform in Manchester due to on-going venue-related technical issues.”
She continued, “We’re doing our best to reschedule the show. You can hold onto your tickets for further info or request a refund at your point of purchase. More info will be sent directly to ticket holders. Im so bummed and i really hope to see you all soon (sic).”
Comedian Peter Kay was supposed to open the venue in April before it was hit by a series of delays.
A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie then became the first artist to open the arena, however, his show was cancelled 10 minutes after the doors had been due to open, with thousands of fans queueing outside, reports BBC News.
During the soundcheck, arena operators discovered an issue with the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system.
At present, Co-op Live is scheduled to open with Keane on Sunday, followed by a five-night run by Take That.
Olivia kicked off the U.K. and Europe leg of her Guts World Tour in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday. She now has a gap in her schedule until her next show in Glasgow, Scotland on 7 May.
