WAEVE – aka Rose Elinor Dougall and Blur guitarist Graham Coxon – have shared a brand new song, 'City Lights'. Listen below for a visual on the song.
“City Lights” follows the duo's self-titled debut album, which was released last year via Transgressive and was one of the top 100 albums of 2023.
Produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence & The Machine, Foals, HAIM). The WAEVEwhich was recorded in 2022. Dougall and Coxon began trading messages during the lockdown, around Christmas 2020, and the project developed from there.
Many of the band's tracks feature Coxon on saxophone, one of the first instruments he picked up when he first became a musician.

Dougall released her latest solo album, A new illusionin April 2019 via Vermillion (it was album of the week and one of the top 100 albums of 2019).

Coxon's last solo album was in 2012 A+Ebut he's busy with soundtrack work, including releasing two albums of songs and scores from the hit TV show The end of the F***ing world and the 2021 score in the comic Superstate. His memoirs, Verse, Chorus, Monster!, was released in the US last year through Faber Books. Blur also released a new album last year, The Ballad of Darren.
