The song, “My Oh My,” is out. Tell me why this was the one that established this new era.
AvaMax:
I wanted to start this era without heartbreak or any man attached to her because I feel like this is the beginning of me. It almost feels like it's my first album.
Tetris Kelly:
That's a heavy statement. And what do you think this era, or this new form of music, is going to say about the new you?
AvaMax:
I mean, for the first time, I find myself really focused on healing. I mean, it's funny that we see an era of curation everywhere, like TikTok and Instagram. I really feel like this is everyone's era of healing and so I just wanted to put out a record that made everyone feel amazing and have fun and feel like they could hang out with their girlfriends or their guys and not think about any relationships. related and simply be their best selves.
Tetris Kelly:
I mean, you heard me, I had it in my head when you came in. I say, “90s paparazzi.” Like the lyrics are really funny. So tell me what the inspiration was. Was it a night you went out? Or what? What helped you write those lyrics?
