Bruce Springsteen will be giving his seminal 1984 album Born in the U.S.A. a special 40th anniversary vinyl re-release on June 14th.
Arriving via Sony Music, the 40th anniversary special edition release will feature newly-colored vinyl and expanded packaging — the LP is colored in a translucent red, and the gatefold sleeve features an exclusive booklet with archival material from the era, newly-penned liner notes from Springsteen archivist Erik Flannigan, and a four-color lithograph. Released on June 4th, 1984, Born in the U.S.A. spawned seven top-10 singles (including fan favorites “Dancing in the Dark,” “Glory Days,” and “No Surrender”), has since sold 30 million copies worldwide, and serves as one of Bruce Springsteen’s most beloved records.
In addition to celebrating 40 years of Born in the U.S.A., Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band are back on tour this year; after completing a North American leg last month, the group is currently in the midst of a UK and Europe run extending through June and July.
