Country icon Miranda Lambert graced the 2024 ACM Awards on Thursday night (May 16) to perform the live debut of her new song “Wranglers.”
Introduced as the most honored winner in ACM Awards history, and wearing a black cowboy hat, fringed two-piece jeans and a large gold horseshoe necklace, Lambert took the stage to perform her latest single. She delivered a stirring rendition of the caustic woman-done-wrong revenge story, electrifying the crowd at The Star in Frisco, TX.
Lambert isn't nominated at this year's show, but she's a 37-time ACM Award winner, with the most recent winning video of the year (for Elle King's “Drunk (And I Don't Wanna Go Home)”) and the famous artist of the year award at the 2022 ceremonies.
“Wranglers” is Lambert's first single since signing to Big Loud and Republic Records earlier this year and is expected to be the lead single from her upcoming ninth solo album. It debuts at No. 37 on this week's Country Airplay chart (dated May 18) — coincidentally, also the 37th song of her career to chart.
While introducing her performance, returning ACM Awards host Reba McEntire referred to Lambert as her “Stagecoach buddy” — referring to how McEntire joined Lambert on stage at the Indio, California country music festival in April to perform a trio of songs with her, including Lambert's “Mama's Broken Heart” and “Gunpowder and Lead.”
