Steve Angello brings his selective skills to SiriusXM.
The Swedish House Mafia producer and member is launching a new program, “Size Sound System,” on SiriusXM station Diplo's Revolution beginning Monday night (May 20) at 9 p.m. ET.
Hosted by Angello and producer AN21 (who is also Angello's younger brother Antoine Josefsson), the weekly schedule will offer a mix of dance classics, fresh music from the global scene and new releases from Angello's SIZE Records. The show is an extension of Angello and AN21's ongoing podcast, also called Sound system size.
“Super excited to announce our latest expansion! I can't wait for this summer to start!” Angello wrote in an Instagram post announcing the show. Kicking off the show, Angello and AN21 join a roster of Diplo's Revolution DJs/producers including Illenium, Party Favor, Alison Wonderland, Mau P, LP Giobbi, Amelie Lens, Dombresky, Josh Wink, MK and Diplo himself.
Off the schedule, Angello made moves with his solo shows and with Swedish House Mafia. During his sets closing the Sahara Stage at Coachella last month, he played a new, unreleased Swedish House Mafia track called “Lioness,” with the trio playing a show at the Brooklyn Mirage in late April.
After the show, the trio wrote on Instagram that “As many have noticed 'Lioness' is not out yet. Thank you for your patience and it will be with you soon, but after playing it live we weren't satisfied with the production and had to make some last minute changes.” These moves suggest that SHM are in studio mode, with the trio also scheduled to play summer festivals including Ultra Korea, the Hamptons edition of Kygo's Palm Tree festival in June, and a string of European and Canadian events.
