New York's Cash Cobain continues his impressive hot streak with a new version of his song “Dunk Contest.” Renamed “Grippy,” this new song doubles as a remix of sorts and features J. Cole, making for an unexpected pairing. Cole kicks things off rapping for a shorty he put on his phone as Grippy, rapping, “She like my kick game/And when you me, you don't do the game/I got her front row at the Knick game/Now her on my phone under a pseudonym.”
The rest of the verse is pretty good as Cole continues to beat back claims he “can't rap about sex and romance” like he did on Future and Metro's “Red Leather.” Cash's track is basically the “Dunk Contest” lyrics, but we'll allow it. That's just how remixes are these days. You have to give him credit for getting Cole to play at your local strip club.
Recently Cash appeared on Don Toliver's new song “Attitude” with Charlie Wilson and released the remix of his record “Fisherrr” with Bay Swag and Ice Spice. He was also the Rookie of the Month for April, where he mentioned working with Toliver, as well as Travis Scott and Frank Ocean.
The rapper/producer has his own Play Cash Cobain EP on the way with art direction handled by none other than Drake. This kid is basically a man smoking in a gas station.
Be sure to stretch before playing this song so you can hit Reemski once for once.
