As the dust continues to settle a month after Kendrick Lamar and Drake's battle, many of the diss tracks remain on fans' playlist rotations.
The Dallas Mavericks practiced before traveling to Boston on Tuesday (June 5) for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, and the team opted to have Kendrick Lamar provide the soundtrack for a portion of the practice.
Footage from a photo shoot around the Mavs facility found Kendrick's “Meet the Grahams” playing over the speakers for the portion of practice open to the media.
Bally Sports Reporter Abby Jones posted a clip of Drake's devilish track playing as superstar guard Kyrie Irving shared a laugh with coach Jason Kidd and assistant Darrell Armstrong.
“Kyrie x Jason Kidd x DA Mavericks gearing up for Kendrick Lamar's 'Meet the Grahams,'” he captioned the video on X.
“Meet the Grahams” on the clip's soundtrack might be the second-most surprising part of the video for fans who might be shocked to see the Mavericks tickle the twine into hoops with a metal chain mesh instead of the standard nylon material.
The dreaded “Meet the Grahams” arrived on May 3, less than an hour after Drake tried to land a strawman with “Family Matters.” The Alchemist-produced track finds Kendrick accusing Drizzy and OVO of being sexual predators and claiming the 6 God is hiding an 11-year-old daughter.
After landing on streaming services, “Meet the Grahams” debuted the following week at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It remains to be seen if Kendrick will bring luck to the underdog Dallas Mavericks as they prepare for game one of the NBA Finals on Thursday night (June 6) against the Boston Celtics.
