Dolly Parton returns to the Great White Way: Hi, I'm Dolly.A new musical inspired by his life and illustrious career, will make its Broadway debut in 2026.
Parton shared news of the Broadway-bound musical at CMA Fest in Nashville this week. She will partner with ATG Productions to develop the show, which will feature original music and lyrics by Dolly herself. He will also collaborate with Maria S. Schlatter on the book. The musical's title is a reference to Parton's debut solo album, while also serving as a play on the classic '60s musical. Hello Dolly. The show will be produced by Parton, ATG's Adam Speers and Danny Nozell.
“Hi, I'm Dolly and I've lived my entire life to see this show on stage,” Dolly Parton said in a statement. “I've written a lot of original songs for the show and included all your favorites too. You will laugh, you will cry, you will applaud, you will stomp your feet, it really is a Grand Opera. Play on words and intended fun. Do not miss it!”
Producer Adam Speers said: “I had the pleasure of working with Dolly Parton for the first time in 2019 when she trusted us to develop a new version of her musical. from 9 to 5 for London's West End. I had always heard that I wanted to do a musical based on his life, so when he asked me if I would be interested in producing it, my jaw dropped. As everyone knows, Dolly is a magical mix of talent, hard work, intelligence, charm, wit and a gigantic heart. I am delighted that we are bringing her inspiring story to Broadway.”
Parton has been keeping busy throughout 2024. She recently announced the “Threads: My Songs in Symphony” virtual concert tour, arriving in 2025. Parton has also appeared on Beyoncé.
