To all the White House staffers who tried to sign Chappell Roan, all we can say is, “Good luck, honey!” During her eye-catching appearance at Governors Ball 2024, the former Consequence CoSign winner revealed that she had been asked to perform at a White House Pride event, an offer she declined.
“In response to the White House asking me to act out of pride, we want freedom, justice and liberty for all,” he said directly to the camera during “My Kink Is Karma.” “When you do that, then I will come.”

Elsewhere, the rising star referenced her drag-inspired Statue of Liberty outfit while talking about “HOT TO GO!” with a speech that addressed trans rights, women's rights and oppressed populations.
“I am dressed up as the greatest queen of them all, but in case you had forgotten what is engraved on my pretty toes: 'Give me your tired, your poor; your huddled masses long to breathe freely.' That means freedom in trans rights, freedom in women's rights… and especially it means freedom for all oppressed people in the occupied territories,” she said, choking up in the process.
Roan's performance at the Governors Ball also had more joyful moments for fans. The artist premiered “Subway,” a new song that appears to be the continuation of “Good Luck, Babe!” of April. Watch a clip below.
