Eric Idle is bringing his new solo show, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, Live!”, to the West Coast for a series of tour dates this fall.
The program gets its name from Idle's “sortabiography.” Always look on the bright side of lifewhich arrived in 2018. Now, the Monty Python member has compiled comedies, original sketches, new songs and, according to a press release, “exactly one fart joke” to form his new one-man show.
The tour begins September 4 in Santa Barbara and continues in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, Salt Lake City, Denver, Phoenix, Santa Fe and Los Angeles throughout the month. The run concludes with a show on September 27 at the Balboa Theater in San Diego, California. After the tour, Idle will head to Australia and New Zealand for a short run of shows in Australia and New Zealand. See the full list of Eric Idle's tour dates below.

Meanwhile, Spamalot – the Monty Python musical he directed with John Du Prez – recently closed in April after a Broadway revival took place in 2023. Idle also took to Twitter recently to clarify that while he and his former Monty Python colleagues own “ everything” they did, changes to royalty distribution and poor management meant they weren’t as “loaded” as people might think.
