Jon Loba
I'll be brief because I know you have to drink and people are tired of hearing you talk. Number one, Billboard, thank you for this event, for recognizing indies, but even more than that, for being part of the storytelling process. You are a big part of our history, for helping tell that and those stories of our artists. We value that. We will never forget it and we will do more of it. Thanks also to BMG, Thomas Coatesfeld, Joe Gillen and our entire team for the trust they have placed in us to make good music and promote good music, as well as our Nashville team led by Joe Jamie Harr. I couldn't. do what I do, nor take on the additional responsibility I have taken on without her and our wonderful team. Mainly, thanks to our artists, including our first real global star, Blanco Brown, who is here tonight, for putting his trust in us. We don't take it lightly. We wake up every morning and fall asleep every night thinking about you, your career, your art, your story, and how we can tell that more effectively. The last thing I'm going to say is, you know, while we were building the band Broken Bow and everyone wanted to give us an award for this indie award or that indie award, I always told the staff, 'Stop.' We are not comparing ourselves to Indians. We're comparing ourselves to the big guys.” We want to play in the big leagues. Having said all that, in these times, I think I'm going to revisit this a little bit, because big companies, as we all know, have potentially become banks of investment, have become great analytical houses, the heart and soul of music, the future of music, the icons of music, will not live in some derivative form; Those of you who wake up every. tomorrow and they go to sleep every night to defend an art that perhaps at this moment does not fit into some analytical equation, they are not applying a certain algorithm, but if they have the opportunity, so I am going to We start celebrating Indian women much more than we do Thank you Billboard and thank you all.
