It's been over three years since Moneybagg Yo's last album, The pain of a gangstahas arrived and the four-digit daily counter can finally be reset to zero.
The Memphis native returns with part one of an upcoming double album titled Speak now, which hit streaming services on Friday (June 14). The project features a total of 17 tracks and features Morgan Wallen, Lil Durk, Chris Brown and more.
“I was really trying to put out a body of work for my first fan base that has been with me ever since Federal,” says Advertising sign. “That's what I did and I mixed it with a sequel, which is called Forever Hold Your Peace.”
Bag continues the sequel project coming later this year: “It's going to be more melodic vibes on it. It drops a few months later Speak now condition.”
Speak Now features previously released singles such as 'Play Da Fool, 'Tryna Make Sure' and 'Bussin' with the help of Rob49.
At this point in his career, rapper CMG feels like he has nothing to prove in the music game.
“Well, I feel like right now it's really about enjoying what I'm doing and expanding at the same time,” he says. “I don't feel like I have anything else to prove. I got all these boards, I was successful. I'm basically coming off a two year hiatus. Just to let them know I'm really doing this.”
The pain of a gangsta arrived in April 2021 and debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 110,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. The platinum project included Hot 100 hits such as “Time Today” and “Wockesha”.
