Just before the Colombian one Superstar Feid took the stage at Madison Square Garden, the audience crawling with mini-Feids, ready to be transported to their leader. The guys completely dressed the part, wearing Feid's signature white T-shirt, white sunglasses and backwards hat. The girls, meanwhile, went Nineties-core, channeling the spirit of Feid's recent works, which have been inspired by everything from early hip-hop to Are you afraid of the DARK?
So much of Feid's appeal has been his specific, idiosyncratic personal brand — the uniform, neon green colors draped across his albums — and the sense of humor that runs through all of his work. It helped him build a huge fan base, mostly Gen-Z reggaeton fans, drawn to his laid-back, upbeat sound. The body that arrived at his sold-out show at MSG as part of his Ferxxocalypsis tour lost his mind the second he took the stage, standing on a giant green structure that extended into the crowd. As Feid launched into songs like “Alakran” and “50 Palos,” all from his latest 10-song release Ferxxocalypsisran around the set up, doing huge laps and singing directly to the crowd.
Throughout the night, Fade played with a giant smile on his face, thanking his fans and dropping some of his favorite Colombian slang-turned-Fade-depressing phrases like, “Hey mor.” A band on stage added some edge to the show. One musician blasted Mad Max-style bursts of fire from his guitar as the rest of the stage occasionally burst into flames. But the main vibe was a sense of good energy, driven by Feid's charisma and good humor. At one point, he slipped on a flag that a fan had thrown onto the stage. somehow the moment just caught on as he laughed it off and continued hopping around the stage.
Towards the middle of the show, Feid started upping the ante: newcomer Maisak came out and joined Feid for some stripped down acoustic songs, which they performed on an elevated platform that soared towards the ceiling. Later, the crowd erupted into a seismic roar when reggaeton veteran Yandel came through to perform with Feid their recent hit “Brickell,” as well as their collaborations “Yandel 150” and “Fecha.” To make Yandel's appearance even better, the Puerto Rican artist decided to put together some of his best tracks of all time, including old school classics from his Wisin Y Yandel days. The fans chanted along to “Rakata” and “Sexy Movimiento” before Yandel left the stage to a standing ovation.
Then another standout moment happened: Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko came on board to sing about two recent smashes with Feid. Ferxxocalypsis singles 'Classy 101' and slinky collab 'offline', off Miko's new album att. Immediately following Miko's exit, Feid once again had the audience in the palm of his hands and used the energy to close the show with a bang, signing off with “Luna” — and reminding everyone why he's one of Latin's most beloved music stars.
