Have you ever wondered what a Daily Bread program is like? Those who haven't experienced one need wonder no more after the producer released a new mixtape, “Flash Flood II,” packed with a ton of previously unreleased tracks and edits.
Included in the mixtape are 25 carefully selected tracks through which many fans can identify samples and clips from his shows. This includes a remix of Tommy Richman's immensely popular “MILLION DOLLAR BABY” and covers of “Push it to the Limit” and “Two Hundred on the Dash.”
On many, if not all, of the tape's tracks, listeners can easily identify Daily Bread's signature spooky, wobbly sounds, making them feel like they're in an old alien movie. Although this mix of songs serves as a sequel to the first tape “Flash Flood”, he does not know the art of a mixtape. Daily Bread, real name Rhett Whatley, is making sure none of his old-school favorites go stale with an arsenal of tapes dating back to 2014.
Hailing from Atlanta, Whatley has been honing his sound for nearly 10 years, first starting out of his bedroom before releasing music under the St. Louis-based label Philos Records. He resides there alongside artists with a similar penchant for cosmic, bass-laden grooves, such as Artifakts, Derlee and Late Night Radio, all of whom regularly appear on his mixes.
