Tycho served fans a three-course meal after revealing a new single, album and tour.
Coming soon is Infinite health, the live electronic superstar's sixth album. Developing a soundtrack inspired by “hope for the future and a requiem for the past”, Tycho says his next album was created with a more electronic production mindset, which saw him “focusing on breaks, drums and rhythmic elements” as a basis. .
Tycho also released the first single from Infinite health“Phantom,” which he called his favorite and the one he spent the most time creating alongside Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor and collaborator Zac Brown.
“I wanted 'Phantom' to feel like a mix of lights in a nightclub with some unknown entity; a moving, changing intelligence that would serve as a conduit to a deeper understanding of what lies beneath the surface of existence,” he explained in a press release. . “It's also about accepting mortality, with the ghost being the ever-present specter. I spent more hours on this song than any other on the record. I played a Juno emulation for that bass line, and I feel like that bass line, and style of playing the bass, it's something quite new for me.”
Tycho is now set to embark on a North American headlining tour for the first time in five years. Inspired by the sounds of his upcoming album, the new tour will kick off on Friday, September 13 in Ogden, Utah.
