First Glastonbury festival, now Dua Lipa has her sights set on Wembley Stadium.
Fresh from playing the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury at the weekend, the 'One Kiss' singer has announced a date at Wembley Stadium next summer for what will be her biggest ever hometown gig.
Lipa have been booked to play at the 90,000 capacity stadium on 20 June 2025.
“There couldn't be a better time to share this with all of you,” she comments in a statement. “I'm still flying high from the magic of headlining the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this weekend and I'm absolutely thrilled to announce that I'll be playing Wembley Stadium this time next year.”
tickets for the Wembley date go on sale next Friday 12 July, with O2 customers gaining exclusive pre-sale access from Wednesday 10 July.
It's all happening at once for Lipa, who shined on the main stage at Glastonbury where she performed back-to-back hits, tracks from her third and final studio album, Radical Optimismand collaborated with Tame Impala's Kevin Parker on the Australian psychedelic pop outfit's 2015 hit 'The Less I Know The Better'.
“I wrote this moment, I wished for it, I dreamed of it,” Lipa told the crowd about what headlining Glastonbury means to her. “When I wrote it, I said I really want to headline the Pyramid stage on Friday night so I can party for the next two days in the best place on earth.”
Parker worked with Lipa as a co-producer and co-writer on seven Radical Optimism tracks, including “Houdini”, “Training Season” and “Illusion”, which cracked the UK top 10.
Radical Optimism recorded a week at No.1 on the Official UK Albums Chart earlier this year and, thanks to her performance at Glastonbury, reached No.2 in the midweek chart. The previous Brit Award-winning 2020 album collection Future Nostalgiareigned for four weeks and yielded “Levitating,” the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of 2021.
