Quality control is set Britney Davis as general manager. Davis will oversee the company's day-to-day operations alongside the CEO Pierre “P” Thomas and COO Kevin “Coach K” Lee. In addition to acting as a liaison between Quality Control's artist roster and partner teams, he will assist staff, managers and artists in developing strategies and structure across the project's campaigns. Quality Control was acquired by HYBE America in February 2023.
“Britney has a long track record of excellence alongside QC and throughout her professional career,” Thomas and Lee said in a joint statement. “Her passion and dedication to artists aligns with the principles that form the foundation of QC. We are incredibly excited to have him as part of the team and couldn't imagine a better person to serve as our general manager.”
Davis most recently served as senior vice president of marketing and artist development as well as vice president of artist relations, marketing and special projects at Motown Records/Capitol Music Group. Under the leadership of former Motown president/CEO Ethiopia Habtermariam, Davis oversaw a variety of artists, including those associated with Quality Control. Among the latter, he oversaw marketing and artist development for Lil Baby's 2020 RIAA double platinum album My turn. Additionally, he has worked on marketing campaigns for Migos, City Girls, Tiwa Savage, Queen Naija and the Queen & Slim soundtrack, which included the Grammy-nominated song “Collide”.
Added Davis in the press release, “I'm excited to be named general manager of Quality Control and to continue on this journey with the team. We've already had incredible success together and I look forward to continuing that pursuit. I'm passionate about continuing to bring the label's vision to life and working alongside P, Coach K and [HYBE America/SB Projects president of management] Jen McDaniels — as their talent, faith and creative instincts are truly unparalleled. I am grateful to offer my experience and lead this incredible journey.”
Davis' resume includes management, marketing and A&R duties for Phase Too Inc.'s roster of clients. She previously worked in day-to-day management for Grammy Award winner Chris Brown, working with him and the founder of Phase Too Tina Davis to grow Brown's CBE Records and oversee songwriting and artist development for Sevyn Streeter, Kevin McCall, Joelle James and others.
A graduate of Howard University with a degree in communications, Davis was a Advertising sign Women in Music, R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players and 40 Under 40 honorees. She was also recognized by ASCAP's Women Behind the Music in 2019.
