John Mayer shares his admiration for Zach Bryan's new album.
On Thursday (July 4), the 46-year-old musician took to social media to praise the country star's long-awaited release, The Great American Bar Scene. Mayer appears on the track “Better Days”.
“I always knew that song that Zach wrote was special,” Mayer began post on X (formerly Twitter). “I had no idea how beautiful, powerful and deep an album would be. I am dumbfounded.”
The 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' singer added, 'I'm blessed to have been able to fulfill my dreams of making music. What I never saw coming: being asked to play with an artist so deeply built
@zachlanebryan is. Thank you for inviting me to make your dream come true.”
“Better Days” features an uplifting, upbeat message to keep the good times going because they can be fleeting. Mayer, who co-produced the soft song, provides tasty guitar licks, as well as a muscular solo in the middle.
The Great American Bar Scene was released on July 4 via Warner Records. The 19-track project includes 18 songs and a poem, highlighted by preview releases of “Pink Skies” and “Purple Gas.” A double vinyl version of the album is scheduled for release on October 10.
In addition to preparing new music, Bryan is headlining the Quittin Time tour, which welcomes a host of headliners including Sheryl Crow, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit, Turnpike Troubadours and The War & Treaty.
