While you're all busy playing checkers on your phones, Eminem is playing multi-dimensional chess on his Apple Vision Pro headphones. How do we know? Enterprising Stans returned to review the tape this week in an ad released in February by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg to promote their Gin & Juice cocktails in which the pair paid homage to Quentin Tarantino. Pulp Fiction while seemingly preparing the runway for Em's upcoming album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).
In the two-minute spot, the old friends and associates are dressed in black, like the hitmen of the iconic film, Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), as they sit in a car at night and fight over . what Snoop calls “that same stupid a–s–t again.” When Dre opens the trunk, an annoyed Snoop asks, “what the fk am I supposed to do with this st?” as he stares at something in the trunk of the car that we never see.
They proceed to don black leather gloves and pull a body bag and shovel out of the trunk, burying the unseen corpse in a grave in the woods, then enjoying a celebratory can of their new favorite drink (and a chat about Snoop, of course) before things are going south. At the time, a commenter on Dre's X post about the G&J teaser quipped, “I was waiting Eminem to jump out of the trunk.”
On Wednesday (July 10), Eminem revealed the tracklist for the mortality-obsessed album due out on Friday (July 12) featuring 19 tracks that appear to touch on themes such as death, rebirth, evil and resolution through tracks titled 'Lucifer'. “Evil”, “Antichrist”, “Somebody Save Me” and “Temporary”. The cover is in keeping with the theme of death becoming Em, as it features Slim Shady's head peeking out of a body bag with one eye wide open and a terrified look on his face. The album is also slated to include “Guilty Conscience 2,” a follow-up to the 1999 hit with Dre? It is currently unclear whether the good doctor will appear in the new installment.
At press time, a representative for Eminem had not been returned Advertising signhis request for comment on fan speculation.
