Coldplay have premiered a new song for some lucky fans in Italy.
The British band, fronted by charismatic frontman Chris Martin, debuted unreleased track “Good Feelings” during their concert at Rome's Stadio Olimpico on Friday (July 12).
“We fell in love in the summer/I remember baby, we felt the sun shining inside/And we were born for each other” Martin sings to the upbeat tune. “All the good feelings, for each other/As we danced to the radio.”
Coldplay fans have been familiar with “Good Feelings” for two years now. A Max Martin-produced version of the song was rumored for the 2021 album, Music of the Spheresas a collaboration with the Chainsmokers, according to Rolling rock.
The new cover of “Good Feelings” will likely appear on Coldplay's upcoming tenth album, Music of the Moonwith vocals by Nigerian singer Ayra Starr.
In June, Coldplay shared new Martin-produced single “Feelslikeimfallinginlove,” which will appear on Music of the Moon. On it, Martin sings, “I feel like I'm falling in love/ You throw me a lifeline/ Oh, not for the first time/ I know I'm not alone.”
Music of the Moon is scheduled to be released on October 4th. Martin has been teasing the new set for over a year. In January 2023 he told the Toronto City News that the band was nearing completion of what was then promised to be the second LP in the Music of the Spheres series. He noted “that won't be out for a while,” though he teased that the band “might” start playing some of the new songs live that year.
Coldplay's current world tour supports Bullets, released on March 18, 2022, in Costa Rica. The multi-year run is currently set to wrap up with the second of two shows at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand on November 16.
