The Greatest Night in Popdive deep into the 1985 recording that produced “We Are the World,” is nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction — and Lionel Richie is celebrating the achievement.

The documentary follows the group of 45 all-star musicians – including Richie – who came together on January 25, 1985, as they “kicked their egos at the door and recorded a song to benefit African famine relief that would change the history of global pop culture. “, says the film's official synopsis. The Greatest Night in Pop included never-before-seen footage of the song's planning and writing process, as well as Henson Studios where the track was recorded.
The film is also available for directing for a documentary/non-fiction program and for sound editing for a non-fiction or reality program.
