You never know where Eminem will turn up these days. The often reclusive rapper has been more visible lately as he promotes his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)including a totally amazing hop-up in London on Thursday night (July 18) to support his old friend and mentor Dr. Dre.
Marshall surprised the crowd at the launch event for Dre's new line of canned drinks with Snoop Dogg, Gin & Juice when he took to the Flippers Boogie Palace stage to join the party hosted by former NBA great Shaquille O'Neal. But first, Dre and Snoop performed a set of some of their most beloved songs, including “The Next Episode,” “Drop It Like It's Hot,” and “Nuthin' But a G Thang” at the event, which was attended by Lakers legend LeBron James. and Idris Elbaamong others, according to NME.
Near the end of the set, Dre introduced Eminem, who broke out the first single from The Death of Slim Shady, “Houdini,” before the pair moved on to “2001” and “Forgot About Dre.” Em posted video of the exciting surprise mini-set where he performs a track from his 'Without Me', writing: “London thank you!!! I had 2 pullups 4 @dreandsnoop at @flippers.world.” Also posted one photo gallery from the night with images of a low rider overturned on two wheels outside the club, as well as footage of Dre and Snoop playing his surprise set.
Although Em has not announced any dates to support his new album, he will appear alongside Muse, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Richie Hawtin at this year's Soundstorm festival in Saudi Arabia in December.
