Tragic news coming out of Louisville as EST Gee's manager Devontae Beach was shot and killed following an EST Gee (George Stone) concert held in his hometown.
According WLKY, the 31-year-old's lifeless body was discovered in a car in downtown Louisville in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police found Devontae Beach's body after responding to a shots fired call in the 800 block of West Main Street around 1:30 a.m.
Local media Wave 3 reports that there were security concerns surrounding the concert at the KFC Yum! Centered before shooting.
Per Wave 3:
The Yum! The Center was aware of these concerns, multiple sources confirmed, but the concert went ahead anyway.
A spokesperson for the venue said they have taken enhanced security measures during the concert and ensuring the safety of their staff and guests is paramount. They added that the measures “effectively ensured a safe environment for everyone attending the concert”.
LMPD has successfully increased its efforts within the space as well. Investigators are aware of the gang ties surrounding Stone's crew.
In 2021, the FBI arrested several of Stone's business partners, including his former manager, Eric Mosely, for gang-related activity, including weapons and drugs. The trafficking organization, according to the US Attorney's Office, was Everybody Shine Together, or EST, their press release said. Stone, who was shot twice himself, was not arrested in that raid.
So far, police have no suspects or a motive for the murder.
EST Gee has yet to comment on his manager's murder. RIP.
