The match series. Watch the video below.
Throughout the 11-minute “battle of teasing,” Em and Slim Shady hurl barbs at each other, with Slim criticizing Em for going soft: “I'm back because you got your nuts shoved so hard between your legs Caitlyn Jenner would be jealous.”
Slim goes on to say that the reunion is an intervention by Dr. Dre, Jimmy Iovine and Paul Rosenberg to “save our career.” Slim echoes a point he made on “Guilty Conscience 2,” in which he notes how the rapper has benefited greatly from hiding behind it to “say everything you didn’t have the guts to say.”
“Everything people think of when they think of Eminem is fucking mine. From the blonde hair to the middle finger to the jokes, it’s all mine. And if we’re being honest, the music you’ve been putting out since I left is not mine.”
Eminem responds by saying that the world has changed: “Every two weeks on TikTok, Gen Z discovers you on Monday and cancels me on Tuesday.” He also strikes a chord with his alter ego by asking: “When was the last time you made fun of someone who wasn’t a pop star, a celebrity who didn’t rap, [or] “Damn marginalized communities?”
“It’s the fucking year 2024, man. Let people live their lives,” Em adds, before calling Slim Shady’s jokes outdated. “This shit ain’t got nothing to do with you. It ain’t that fucking hard. Just respect whatever you want to be called and move on.”
Last week, The Death of Slim Shady ended Taylor Swift's 12-week reign atop the Billboard 200 by debuting at No. 1. It was Eminem's 11th consecutive release to top the chart.
