According to the Associated Press, local police said a 17-year-old from Cardiff was arrested in the incident at the community centre and a knife was seized after the attack. The event was billed as “a morning of yoga, dancing and Taylor Swift-themed bracelet making.”
Taylor posted on her Instagram story: “The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is constantly washing over me and I am in complete shock…” and “They were just little kids in a dance class. I don’t know how to convey my condolences to these families.”
Police said the suspect was in custody on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Taylor's fans responded to the tragedy by raising money for the victims' families. At the time of the recording, they had raised $230,000.
