Over the past few years, Nike's stock has been falling as the hype behind most of their releases has been tepid at best (the resellers here broke! LOL). But with numerous classic retro silhouettes set to release in 2025, Nike seems poised for a comeback. Now, they've added another gem to their trove of drops for next year.
According Nice kicks, Nike plans to re-release the classic and elusive 'PlayStation' Air Force 1 originally released in the mid-2000s in extremely limited numbers. While Air Force 1s have also seen a decline in popularity in recent years, there are a few iterations of the silhouette that die-hard sneakerheads still hold in high esteem, and this particular pair happens to be one of them.
Whether or not this new generation of sneakerheads will understand the allure behind the colorful patent leather, older heads will surely feel nostalgic when they look at them and hope to find a pair if they hit digital shelves in the new year.
Per Nice kicks:
The legacy of the PS x Nike AF1 Low transcends gaming and sneaker culture. The sneaker debuted in 2006 as a friends and family exclusive for the NBA video game “The Life.” With only 150 pairs in existence, each sneaker is numbered with a special tag on the inside.
In addition to its rarity, the PS x Nike AF1 Low was favored by many due to its gradient design, OG PS logo on the heel, purple laces, baby blue outsole, and eye-catching shiny patent leather upper.
Kobe loved their joints.
The news comes after it was announced that Nike would also be re-releasing the classic Air Jordan 1 “Shattered Backboards” in 2025 as well. Originally retroed in 2015, these goblets would continue to resell for over $1000 in the years to come as heads loved the orange and black colorway on the Air Jordan 1s.
Between these two sneakers, along with the Air Jordan 1 “Bred”, “Galaxy” Foamposites, Air Jordan 8 “Aquas” among many other highly anticipated sneakers, Nike is coming for all the money in 2025, and you know what, these . you will take it.
