Garbage have been forced to cancel all remaining tour dates for the year due to frontwoman Shirley Manson suffering an injury.
On Thursday, a representative for the band announced the news in a post on Instagram.
“It is with great regret that we announce the cancellation of all our remaining dates for the rest of the year due to an injury that Shirley sustained on our recent tour in Europe that will require surgery and rehabilitation to correct,” they wrote. “This is not a decision that we have taken lightly, and we apologise to our amazing fans and supportive promoters. We look forward to playing for you all again in 2025.”
In addition, Shirley also posted a message regarding the news.
“No one is more crushed about this than I am. You know I would push through if I could,” she commented.
The Scottish singer didn’t disclose the injury or reveal how it was caused.
In response to the post, a number of fans sent well wishes.
“Love you Shirley! I’m so sorry about your injury. I really hope the surgery goes well and people sneak you in some decent food!” wrote musician Kathleen Hanna, while actress Rosanna Arquette added, “Ahh s**t. Heal well beautiful Shirley and a great record will come from this time.”
Garbage, also comprised of Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig, had been set to perform at a number of festivals, including Ohana Festival in Dana Point, California in September.
