T.I. has been arrested at an airport amid a case of mistaken identity.
According to editors at TMZ, the rapper – real name Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. – was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday night.
T.I. was reportedly then taken to Clayton County Jail.
But the 43-year-old’s attorney, Steve Sadow, later confirmed to the outlet that his client had been mistakenly identified as another Clifford Harris. The arrest had led to an automatic extradition hearing because the warrant was issued in another state.
He was released from jail within two hours of being arrested and a judge dismissed the extradition order.
The actual suspect is wanted in Baltimore, Maryland over charges related to alleged stalking and violent behaviour toward a woman.
T.I. has not yet commented on the incident.
