Blink-182 have been forced to cancel two of their current tour show dates due to illness.
The iconic pop-punk band have been on their One More Time… Tour since late June and played their latest concert at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on Wednesday night.
Fans attending the show watched as frontman Tom DeLonge began to fall ill, however, co-lead vocalist Mark Hoppus then stepped up to belt out a string of unexpected tracks.
On Thursday, however, the band announced they had to cancel planned shows on Friday and Saturday night, stating via X, “Unfortunately, due to illness we are unable to make it to Kansas City and St Louis. If you purchased through Ticketmaster, refunds will be issued automatically.
“If you purchased from a third-party reseller (Stubhub, Seatgeek, Vividseats) etc, please reach out to your point of purchase. We are so sorry and hope to see you next time.”
Fans rushed to wish the band a speedy recovery – with some sharing clips from the Milwaukee performance and noting how great the show had been despite Tom’s declining health.
One impressed fan remarked on X, “Blink-182 had to cut its set short last night because Tom was feeling sick, but ironically they played their best setlist yet?! Shout out to Tom for powering through the show and mad props to Mark for stepping up to the plate and adding a bunch of songs he sings on the spot!”
The next gig the band are due to play is at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Monday 12 August, and the tour is scheduled to conclude in Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, on Friday 11 October.
