Adele has revealed her new obsession with Chappell Roan’s music.
The diva admitted she “went down a rabbit hole” of Chappell’s work and described her fellow singer as “spectacular”.
“Chappell Roan is her name, yes?” Adele said during a break at one of her performances in Munich, Germany on 14 August.
“I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday, and I loved it, and it was one of my friend’s playlists. And then, I went down a rabbit hole on Monday. All day long.”
While Adele didn’t divulge which of 26-year-old indie pop singer Chappell’s songs sent her into the discovery spiral, she added there were several others she found equally impressive.
“She is spectacular, and it turns out, she’s not just got one song – she’s got, like, seven f**king brilliant songs,” Adele, 36, gushed.
“I think she’s absolutely amazing. I’m very excited for her, but my friend also said she’s a bit scared. So, do what you gotta do, baby girl, but you’re phenomenal. Anyway, that’s all I’ve done this week, is discover Chappell Roan.”
Chappell, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, released her debut album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess last September – however, it has recently risen through the charts thanks largely to word-of-mouth praise and is currently the number one album in the UK.
The singer recently explained her explosion in popularity has led her to “pump the brakes” on promoting her music after fans found her parents’ home address, giving her “stalker vibes”.
