LISA and Rosalía's “New Woman” tops this week's new music poll featuring artists across genres.
Music fans voted in a poll published on Friday (August 16). Bulletin boardpicking the BLACKPINK superstar and the Spanish artist group as their favorite new music release of the past week.
“New Woman” garnered 54% of the vote in the poll, securing a lead over new releases from Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars (“Die With a Smile”), Post Malone (F-1 Tris), promote people (Paradise State of Mind), Hozier (No show), and others.
LISA and Rosalía's Y2K-inspired single arrived Thursday (August 15) with an equally colorful music video. “Hit it when I'm serving/ B—-, you better turn/ I'm getting my aura up, uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-aura/ Focus on my mind/ I'm taking my time/ I'm a new woman,” declares LISA on the catchy chorus .
For her verse, Rosalía adds a bilingual element by singing, “Nací pura, sí/ Ni una era será un flop en mi porvenir/ P—, soy la Rosalía, solo sé servir,” which translates to “I was born pure/ There I won Ain't a flop season in my future/ W—-, I'm Rosalía, I only know how to serve.”
The new song comes just over a month after the K-pop icon entered a new phase of her solo career outside BLACKPINK with “Rockstar,” which debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200.
Following LISA and Rosalía in this week's poll is Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars' 'Die With a Smile', with nearly 36% of the vote. The superstars barely gave fans a heads up before revealing the collaboration, the existence of which they only confirmed less than 12 hours before its arrival.
It's been a while since an artist has released proper solo music. Gaga's latest album, Chromaticafell in 2020, while Mars 24K Magic she is approaching eight years old. The former topped the Billboard 200 album chart and the latter reached No. 2.
