Apple's Black MacBook Pro is on sale: Here's how to save $500 on the M3 laptop

Apple is gearing up for Labor Day with limited sales on its Macbook Pro laptops just in time for the back-to-school season. The black Macbook Pro is $500 off at Amazon and a few other retailers, including B&H and Best buy.

The tech giant introduced the Macbook Pro M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max last October. The trio of laptops is designed to withstand heavy workflows and everyday tasks. The cheapest among the bunch, the MacBook Pro M3 retails for $1,599. However, the Amazon deal below saves you $500 off the 14-inch MacBook Pro and drops the price below $1,500.

The MacBook Pro with an M3 Pro chip starts at $1,999 and the MacBook Pro M3 Max is $2,499. Both the M3 Pro and M3 Max are available in the all-new space black finish, while the MacBook Pro with the M3 is available in the usual silver and space gray.

In addition to the Liquid Retina XDR display, the Macbook Pro has a built-in 1080p camera and a six-speaker audio system.

According to Apple, the M3 MacBook Pro is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs, video editors, creatives and students. The new MacBooks come with upgrades like a faster CPU and GPU, improved camera and sound, and up to 128GB of memory — but no touch bar.

In comparison, the 14-inch Macbook Pro with the M3 chip runs up to 60 percent faster than the 13-inch M1 chip and Core i7. Final Cut Pro and Microsoft Excel perform up to 40 percent faster with the M3 chip than the 13-inch MacBook Pro (M1 and Core i7).

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro are up to 40 percent faster on the M3 model, and the M3 Max is up to 11 times faster than Apple's fastest Intel-based Macbook Pro.

The M3 Pro model is great for developers, creatives, researchers and other tasks that require “more demanding workflows,” according to Apple. The M3 Max is designed for tasks with “extreme workflows” such as 3D artists, developers and video editors.

The Macbook M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max are available at Amazon, Best buy and Apple. MacBooks were released last November.
