Pixies have released a new song called “Oyster Beds,” which serves as the latest preview of their upcoming album, The night the zombies camestream it below.
Featuring crunchy guitar riffs, “Oyster Beds” is inspired by frontman Black Francis’ return to painting as a way to focus while recording the album at Rockfield Studios in Wales. In a statement, he said the lyrics are “a list of things I’ve been painting over the last few years.”

In fact, on “Oyster Beds” we see Black Francis describing his art quite literally. “I painted heads and lots of red/ And pools of black on the oyster beds,” he sings. “A faithful husband with his shirt open/ A pagan turned sacred cow.”
The night the zombies came It also includes previous singles “Chicken” and “You're So Impatient.” The album is available for pre-order at vinyl and CD before its release on October 25.
