Certain old school dubstep songs have a way of transporting us to a certain place and time, instantly channeling the past to evoke memories and experiences. That nostalgia is a big part of what makes dubstep so special.
Emerging bass music producer Tape B recently took timeless dubstep records like Skrillex and Nero's “Promises” and Adventure Club and Flight Facilities' “Crave You” to sample on his new edits mixtape, “Vibe Check Vol: 1” . The new versions of seven of his classics show his avant-garde style, fusing old school with new school.
“This is a new mixtape series for all my non-hip hop flips (driptapes),” Tabe B explained oninstagram. “For the first one, I wanted to post a bunch of my old school dubstep edits that I've been playing since the 2022 showcase. I know a lot of day 1ers have been waiting for them, so I hope you all enjoy them.”
Tape B is currently on tour with upcoming performances in Denver, California, North Carolina and manyfurther. You can listen to “Vibe Check Vol: 1” below.
