In its sixth year this year, Same Same But Different returns to California’s idyllic Lake Perris State Park for three days and nights of radiant electronic music and intimate festival experiences.
From humble beginnings in 2018, SSBD has grown exponentially to become one of the most popular boutique festivals on the West Coast. However, this year’s festival has the feel of the biggest and best yet.
Tickets Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 edition, which includes headliners from electronic music superstars Ganja White Night, LSDREAM, and Big Gigantic. Joining them on an impressive lineup are Daiy Bread, Zingara, Ravenscoon, Justin Jay, Daniel Allan, Mersiv, and WHIPPED CREAM, among many others. The festival will also feature appearances by Wreckno and A Hundred Drums, who were named to EDM.com’s Class of 2022 and 2023, respectively.
Ahead of the return of this holistic, highly curated festival experience, we highlight a few things that make Same Same But Different live up to its name.
Las Vegas-inspired “Viva But Vegas” stage and area
The wonderfully quirky “Viva But Vegas” experience allows attendees to enjoy a Sin City-inspired twist on the But stage and its surroundings. From cheeky “But-lagio” tiles to a chapel and sparkling casino activation, “Viva But Vegas” is sure to become a festival highlight for the most daring fans.
Sunrise-to-sunset shows at the new Nakey Island
For the first time in 2024, Lake Perris Island will be part of the festival grounds, hosting sunrise-to-sunset DJ sets and plenty of surprises. Hosted by San Diego promoters Almost Nakey, Nakey Island will be accessible by ferry from the main festival grounds.
Mindfulness and holistic experiences
Practitioners of wellness, mindfulness and rejuvenation will feel right at home at SSBD. The festival hosts a wide variety of healing activities, from restorative yoga sessions and cold baths to deep immersions in the ancient Eastern discipline of Qigong alchemy.
Family fun for everyone
SSBD is a family-friendly festival that wants to make sure that children enjoy the experience as much as their parents. The festival’s new family garden will offer a safe space for parents and their children to enjoy the festival together, taking part in daily workshops, craft sessions, a silent disco party just for kids and many other activities for all the family.
Grove Grove
Groove Grove, billed as “The Ultimate Jam Session,” will keep the excitement going throughout the festival. The open jam zone will be one of the most spontaneous and exciting parts of the SSBD experience, and artists might even host secret improvised sets.
