Foster the People scores his third set of top 10s on Billboard's Top Selling Albums chart as the actor's latest studio effort, Paradise State of Minddebuts at No. 8.
The set sold nearly 7,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 22, according to Luminate. The new album was preceded by the top 20 Alternative Airplay chart hit “Lost In Space”.
Also new to the top 10 on top selling albums: Post Malone's F-1 Tris debuts at No. 1, Falling in Reverse marks his highest charting album and his first top 10 with Popular monster reaching No. 2, KATSEYE's debut project SIS (Soft Is Strong) bows at No. 6 and virtual YouTuber Mori Calliope visits the top 10 for the first time with Ghost debut at No. 9.
Bulletin boardThe Top Albums Sales chart ranks the best-selling albums of the week based on traditional album sales only. The history of the chart dates back to May 25, 1991, the first week Bulletin board began charting electronically tracked track count information from SoundScan, now Luminate. Net album sales was the sole metric used by the Billboard 200 album chart through the list dated December 6, 2014, after which that chart changed to a methodology that combines album sales with track-equivalent album units and album-equivalent units flow.
Of the 7,000 copies Paradise State of Mind sold in its first week, physical album sales totaled 6,000 (about 3,000 each for CD and vinyl) and download album sales totaled 1,000. The set was supported by its availability on six vinyl versions.
Post Malone's first country album F-1 Tris debuts at No. 1 on top album sales with 80,000 first-week sales – the second-biggest sales week for a country album in 2023. (Only Beyoncé's debut country set, Cowboy Carterhad a bigger week when it hit 168,000 earlier this year.)
F-1 TrisFirst week sales were boosted by its availability on four vinyl editions (a standard black vinyl and three color variants, which combined to sell 25,000 – Post Malone's best week on vinyl), a cassette and a CD, in addition to the express and clean digital album downloads for the standard 18-song version and the “Long Bed” 27-song version.
Rock band Falling In Reverse debuts at No.2 with Popular monstermarking his highest-charting rock performance and his first top 10. The album sold nearly 18,000 copies in its first week – the act's best sales week since 2015 Just like you debuted with 24,000 sales. Sales of the new set in its first week were aided by its availability on eight vinyl variants, a signed CD and a deluxe CD box set containing a branded T-shirt.

SIS (Soft Is Strong)the debut project from girl group KATSEYE, reaches No. 6 with 8,000 sales. The act was created in the 2023 YouTube series The debut: Dream Academy. SISFirst week sales were boosted by eight CD collector's editions and two vinyl albums.

Mori Calliope, a virtual YouTuber with over 2 million subscribers on that platform, it debuts at No. 9 with Ghostsells 6,000 copies. It's the artist's first top 10 on the record, and the set was bolstered by its availability on five CD collector's editions.
Falling from No. 1 to No. 10 is Taylor Swift's Department of Tormented Poets with almost 6,000 sold (down 79%).
